Retainer Fee

Prior to the commencement of any legal service(s), Client may be required to pay Hanna Law a Retainer Fee (“Retainer), the amount of which is negotiated and made part of a binding Legal Retainer Agreement (“Agreement”). Retainers are due and payable in advance of any services rendered and upon execution of the Agreement. Hanna Law utilizes various and distinct Retainer arrangements depending on the Client’s needs and circumstances.

A) Retainer for Attorney Availability: A Retainer for Availability ensures to the Client that Hanna Law will have an attorney available upon short notice to handle any particular matter for the Client. The entire amount of the Retainer is considered earned upon receipt, the Retainer is nonrefundable, and the Retainer is deposited into the bank account of Hanna Law’s choosing. Generally, this arrangement is recurring on a monthly or quarterly basis.

B) Retainer for Hourly Services: A Retainer for Hourly Services ensures that payment will be made to Hanna Law upon delivery or completion of its services. This applies primarily to services rendered on an Hourly-Based (“Hourly”) payment arrangement with a Client. The entire amount of the Retainer is deposited into Hanna Law’s IOLTA Client Trust account. The unearned balance of this type of Retainer is refundable to the Client upon written demand, or upon completion of the services rendered, or upon termination of the Attorney-Client relationship. Clients who enter into an Hourly arrangement are subject to the requirements of remitting a non-refundable Retainer to Hanna Law; an amount generally equal to the estimated time for a matter multiplied by the then-negotiated hourly-rate.

C) Retainer for Costs & Expenses: A Retainer for costs and expenses allows Hanna Law directly pay for any costs, expenses and other third-party services associated with the Client’s matter. Such expenses often include, without limitation, court costs, filing fees, service of process, etc.

Hourly Rate

Hanna Law’s current hourly billable rate is set at $290.00 USD for most in-office legal services.

If applicable, Hanna Law bills first to the retainer in Hanna Law’s IOLTA Client-Trust account, and, upon depletion of any monies therein, Client shall pay additional fees, if any, upon presentment and delivery of a billing statement by Hanna Law.

Unless there is a written agreement to the contrary, these contingent amounts are exclusive of costs, expenses and other third-party services associated with the collection and litigation process.

Upon collection of any amount, whether in-full or in-part, including payments on account, Hanna Law retains for its services a gross amount of the above listed percentage(s) of any such amount earned, settled or collected; the balance of which shall be remitted within 30 days of receipt, verification and settlement of such funds to Client via check or other similar method of payment.
